ストリーム・サーバーを立ち上げる

インターネットで映像と音を同時に流すには、現状では、RealAudio/Videoにおよぶものはないようだ。最近テストしてみて実感した。いまのところWindows95/NTにかぎられるが、RealEncoder5.0が非常によく出来ていて、ファイルやデバイス（マイクやカメラ）の出力をリアル・ファイルに変換してくれるだけでなく、それらの出力をリアルタイムでサーバーに送り込む送信機能をもっている。
そのため、RealEncoder5.0をインストールしたWindowsマシーンがあり、それがインターネットに接続されているならが、どこからでもインターネット放送ができるわけである。
わたしの場合、tku.ac.jpに接続した個人サーバーanarchyにRealServer 5.01をインストールし、そこに電話線→プロバイダー経由でRealEncoder5.0 ＋ Windows95マシーンでアクセスし、ライブ放送をするという実験を試みている。
以下にサーバー立ち上げのリポートをまとめておく。

●http://www.real.com/products/にアクセスして、個人使用にかぎってフリーなBasic Server 5.0 (Pub. Date 10-6-97)を入手する。サーバーのＯＳ、氏名、所属、メールアドレスなどを聞いてくるので、正直に記入する。折り返し、RealNetworksからメールでライセンス情報を送ってくるので、メールアドレスは正しく記入する必要がある。

●tar.gzファイルを解凍し、そのフォールダーをHTTPサーバーの適当なドメインの下に置く。

●tarを開いて出てくるsetupをshellで起動させると、Ｑ＆Ａの形式でCustomerNameとLicenseKeyを聞いてくるので、メールで受け取ったものをそのままコピーする。その結果、server.cfgというファイルができる。このファイル名は変更してもよい。

（なお、以上の手続きは、サーバーをリブートしたごとに行わなければならない。）

●サーバーの起動テスト
サーバー上でもよいし、別のマシーンからでもよいから、Webブラウザを立ち上げて、http://はデフォルトでは、server.sfgで記入した7070。 ダイアローグ・ボックスが現われるので、User Nameのところに Admin、passwordのところにserver.cfgで記入したパスワードを入れる。 RealPlayerが現われ、サンプルが起動する。むろん、この場合、RealPlayer5.0をインストールしておかなければならない。

●RealAudio/Videoページの作り方
サーバーを立ち上げたら、ストリーム配信のためのウェブページをつくらなければならない。
RealEncoderでコンバートしたraやrmファイルを<a href="xxxx.ra">という形でリンクを切り、呼び出すこともできるが、ストリーミングの場合は、メタファイルを介してソースファイルにアクセスし、それを小出しに配信する（だから、大きな容量のファイルをほとんどリアルタイムで配信できる）。 ストリーミングのサイトにアクセスして、キャッシュに残ったファイル（これがメタファイル）を見ても、そこには、"pnm://anarchy.k2.tku.ac.jp[server name]/xxxx.ram"といった記述しかないのはこのためである。

●Realファイルの作製：
Windows95用のRealEncoder5.0は、コンバート作業をすべてブラウザ画面で出来るだけではなく、ファイルからの変換、デバイススからの直接変換、リアルタイムでの配信ができる（ 現在、UNIXとMac用はaudioのコンバータのみ）。なお、Windows95用のRealEncoderを使う場合、変換するファイルは、ノンコンプレスのwav/aviかQuickTimeMovie for Windowsでなければならない。
・コンバーターで、たとえば xxx.ra（音声）かYYY.rm（音声＋映像）を作る。
・テキストエディターで pnm://anarchy.k2.tku.ac.jp/xxx.ra（またはyyy.rm）の１行を書いたメタファイルを作り、拡張子をram、たとえばzzz.ramにしてセーブする。
・RealAudio/Videoのためのページを作り、そこに<a href="zzz.ram">といったリンクを張る。

●ライブ・ストリーミングのやり方
・ウェブサーバーのHTMLページに「ライブ」のタグを作る。
例：<a href="livecast">LiveCast</a>
・インターネットないしはイントラネットに接続されたWindowsマシーン上でRealEncoder5.0を起動すると、まず、（１）ファイルからか（２）デバイスからか（３）ライブなのかを聞いてくるので、［live Broadcast］を選ぶ。 ・ウィンドウに選択・確認事項が出てくるので、説明を読んで選択する。 ［Taget Audience］の設定では、「28Kbps Modem」から「T1」（Corporate LANの選択としては100 Kbpsと200 Kbps）がある。通常は、最低の「28Kbps Modem」を選んでおく。
・「RealServer Information」の項では、以下のように入れる。

ServerPort----->7070［server.cgiで設定したもの］
Filename-------liveCast
Password------->xxxxx［server.cgiで設定したもの］

これで、［Start］を押せば、ライブのStreamCastができる。
